5G phones are great but can often cost over £60 a month with not a lot of data. Xiaomi have now entered the race and have the cheapest 5G phone available in the UK. At the moment there is not much of a reason to switch to a 5G mobile phone as the 5G capabilities are not ready. However, at this price it may be worth making the plunge sooner than expected.
Xiaomi have launched their latest flagship series the Xiaomi Mi 10 series, it boasts the UK’s most affordable 5G phone. All the Mi 10 series are 5G enabled but the cost of the Mi 10 Lite makes it the cheapest 5G phone on the market.
Release date
The Xiaomi 10 series will be released in may 2020. We don't have an exact date but its expected to be towards the end of may.
The Price
The cheapest phone will be the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite which will cost £310! Thats more than half the price of any other 5G phone currently available.
The Specs
Often, in the mobile phone world you expect the cheaper devices to not have the best specifications. This is not the case. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite comes with the following
- 6.7 Inch AMOLED display
- Four rear cameras with 48 megapixels
- 4160 mAH battery
- Snapdragon 765G Chipset
For the non-tech enthusiasts this means the following, one big screen, amazing camera and very long battery life. The only downside is it's using an older process so it won't be as fast as other devices, not that this will be noticeable!
Verdict
This is the bargain phone of the year so far. A budget phone that puts some of the leading manufacturers to shame at their price point.
