Xiaomi actually has six handsets in the top 10 this month and are looking strong as we head towards the second half of the year. Huawei and Apple each have a single handset in the running, while Samsung manages to hold onto two spots, but their high-end flagship handsets are nowhere to be seen.  The listings are based on the amount of interest and search traffic each handset has generated, and it really does suggest that Xiaomi is one to watch.

Starting at 10, a new entry scrapping in, we have the Samsung Galaxy S8. This is an interesting addition given that we are currently on the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, with both the S10 and the S9 before that. It seems that users are taking an interest in older technology.

Another new entry at number 9 is the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 light which had been hotly anticipated for some time before finally coming to market amidst rave reviews. For a ‘Lite’ style phone it packs a pretty decent punch and it is no surprise that it has attracted some attention.

At number 8 we have the only Huawei offering in this month’s top 10, and it comes in the form of the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition. This is a good-looking handset and reissued phones are always of interest as people are keen to see what has changed.

Pushing up one place to Number 7 the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has created a lot of user interest and features a small pinhole camera on the front and a very decent traffic light lens stack on the back.

Coming in at number 6, also pushing up one place, we find the Samsung Galaxy A51, which is a strong mid-range contender offering a lot of Samsung power. Again, it features a very nice all screen look, with the pinhole camera on the front.

Moving on up the charts now at number 5, previously seen in position 6, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro. This is the Big Brother of the handset ranked number 7 and offers a larger style screen and some other updated features.

At number 4 of this Xiaomi dominated charts we see the Redmi Note 9S, also shifting up a position. This takes all screen viewing to a new level, and has a neat rectangular multiple camera array on the back.

Dropping down one position to number 3, we find the Apple iPhone SE (2020), still fairly high up the charts, this rebooted special edition was always set to be popular and is selling at an exponential rate.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is number 2, which sat at number one last time we checked. However, it has only lost out to another Xiaomi handset, so they're not going to complain about that.

That means that the number 1 handset currently for May 2020,  is the Xiaomi Poco F2 pro. This is a pre-release, and clearly the company has been doing well in leaking teaser information as it certainly has a lot of interest.
